    1. I saw some concerts in high school–mostly Southern bands who would go on to become famous, but I saw them in their early stages. The best concert I remember from my high school years is when my brother and sister-in-law took me with them to see Neil Young. Linda Ronstadt opened for him. Heady stuff for a high-schooler–but a little mellower than Billy Idol.

  1. The most infamous incident in grade school was the day that Sister Mary Mean caught all the boys oogling the pictures in National Geographic magazines. She marched a dozen of us over to the church and made us go to confession. After the first three boys came out of the confessional, the paster came out and called the nun to join him. While we couldn’t hear what he said to her, it was quite loud. And she poutingly led us back to school. The next day all the National Geographics disappeared.
The high school memory was very special and unforgetable!

  2. grade school… there was the day a BUNCH of little children walking home from school came upon a vast field of daffodils waving in the breeze. so many were picked for all their mothers. until some old woman came running out of her house screaming about paying someone to plant them for her to take to the SICK in the HOSPITALS!!! that took the fun out of that. I left a trail of daffodils all the way home.

high school… lots of concerts; all a bit “foggy”
