Button Sunday

Sunday I went to hear some great music at an event our rescue group held to raise funds and awareness. Here are some of the wonderful dogs who were there looking for adoptive homes.

Blossom was eager to go for a walk! She was a real sweetie pie with lots of happy energy.

Calvin is such a good soul and has been waiting for his family for a while. His day will come; I just know it.

Wally has a compelling story, but the link to the pictuers, videos, and details is no longer a working link. Sorry!

It took all my self-control not to bring Clyde home with me. He reminds me so much of my childhood dog, just lighter colored. But I know Margot and Guinness are getting too old to share their home, and their needs come first. Hopefully Clyde will find his ideal family soon.

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it on here before, but I keep a list of the pet names our group has used, and I constantly add new names to it for them. Sometimes they need to name a lot of dogs and cats quickly, and it can be hard to think of something new/different on the spot. One of the names I added to the list is Bango. That was the name of my father’s dog when he was a little boy. He used to tell me stories about Bango; when he finally wrote one down, I think it was published in a newspaper column he had in the small Kentucky town where my parents lived for a while. So it’s a name that’s very special to me, and I was thrilled to meet the dog who was dubbed Bango. I hope he finds someone to love him as much as the original Bango was loved by my father.
