The paroxysm of greed begins!

On Christmas Eve our little family had a quiet roast beef dinner.

Then the crazed opening of boxes and bags and envelopes and the emptying of stockings happened.

Here are just a few of the toys the dogs received from Iowa and Utah and Texas.

And like every kid ever,

Pollock chose an empty gift bag and tissue as his favorite things to play with.

  1. Dash LOVED a blanket Oma got him, and there was a teddy bear under the tree for him that he was wild over. So wild that he did had no interest in his other gifts — and trust me there are others. He will open them tomorrow.

    1. I love it when they are so happy over some gift. There has been plenty of playing here over the last couple of days… Though my old dogs are way more interested in their treats than their toys.

  2. Crazy dog, in the second photo, I like how the flash lights up the eyes.

My parents have been so poorly these past 3 weeks, and Mom was really dizzy sick yesterday from being sick with clogged ears. I threatened her with getting a walker for her, as I let her lean on me to the car, so that we could all go to Aunt Pat’s house for a party. Dad has recovered to the point of coughing fits, so hopefully, Mom won’t give back to Dad whatever it was he gave her!

They decided to spend this morning wrapping up the presents, which will be unwrapped in a few minutes anyway. But, I think this is an improvement over their general health. I told them, for next year, don’t get sick.

    1. I’m so sorry your parents have been sick. That’s never fun anytime, but especially not during holidays. Hope they’re both feeling better soon–will wish for a happy new year for you all!
