For a cold day

Animal crackers and cocoa to drink,
That is the finest of suppers, I think;
When I’m grown up and can have what I please
I think I shall always insist upon these.

from Christopher Morley’s “Animal Crackers”

This mug and its cocoa and mini marshmallows are a treat from Debby. Doesn’t the mug remind you of Dr. Seuss and The Cat in the Hat? I don’t have a copy of the book, but I figured another episode of “Prison Break” doesn’t go with hot chocolate, so instead I watched Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 while I sipped it.

According to Wikipedia, Christopher Morley’s last advice to his friends was: “Read, every day, something no one else is reading. Think, every day, something no one else is thinking. Do, every day, something no one else would be silly enough to do. It is bad for the mind to continually be part of unanimity.”

What will you do that’s different today?

    1. That is amazing and different–especially for Dash! How did HE feel about getting to experience a bit of the life of his northern friends, the doggrl pack?

      1. He DID NOT like it and shook his paws with every step, then he would stop and shake — he did his business quickly, and when I opened the screen door to the back porch he flew into the house at top speed. He didn’t even ask for a treat, and that NEVER happens. He always wants a treat on the porch …

        It really is pretty with being in the woods and the snow falling, but he doesn’t seem to appreciate it.

    1. Tom drank hot chocolate tonight. It’s quite cold here compared to standard Houston weather, which is summer, before summer, after summer, and hint of summer.
