It’s as if they know me…

Taking a break from editing, taking down Christmas decorations, cooking the traditional New Year’s Day meal that will include greens and black-eyed peas. Poured a fresh cup of coffee in a mug from Tim. Showing off my fabulous lunch box from Geri and David–and a new ornament from Lynne. I may just have to take that coffee to go as I sail up to the sun… Are all my friends on board?

  1. I think I’d go bananas in any submarine, even a yellow one. You see, I just moved to another apartment. By chance or quirk of fate (you can take your pick) the bathroom has that era’s feel, complete with matching sunshine-yellow tiles on the wall, with sunshine-yellow sink and sunshine-yellow tub. The floor tile is little specks of grey, which would be nice and beachy if I could get a tan under the heat lamp.

Happy New Year, Becky! I keep seeing mention of black-eyed peas, but you know, I can’t say I’ve ever tasted them. And I had no idea it was a NY tradition for so many! You learn something new every day in the blogosphere…

    1. I think the greens are supposed to bring prosperity and the peas good luck. And though we’ve had our trials, I always say, “But it could be worse if we DIDN’T eat them!” No sense taking chances.

      Happy new year!

  3. A belated Happy New Year! And I really like the Deco lady holding up the books in your new banner. While I still have never seen The Yellow Submarine, I did see The Magical Mystery Tour on PBS on New Year’s Eve.

    1. I haven’t seen either movie, so you’re ahead of me. I love that Deco lady, too–she belonged to my late friend Steve R.

Thank you, and happy new year to you, too!
