And you live life with your arms reached out.
Eye to eye when speaking.
Enter rooms with great joy shouts,
happy to be meeting.
And bright,
bright,
bright, bright as yellow,
warm as yellow.

And I do not want to be a rose.
I do not wish to be pale pink,
but flower scarlet, flower gold.

And have no thorns to distance me,
but be bright,
bright,
bright, bright as yellow,
warm as yellow.

Even if I’m shouting, even if I’m shouting here inside.
Even if I’m shouting, do you see that I’m wanting,
that I want to be so so
bright,
bright,
bright, bright as yellow,
warm as yellow.

A very happy birthday today to Camden–a great son, brother, nephew, cousin, and grandson. (And extra special to me, because he loves the Beatles.) You’re a good man, Charlie Brown!

Granma with Tyler, Rome, Evan, Morgan, and Camden.
The whole Kid Crew at Granma’s house: Cassidy, Tyler
Amelia, Rome, Morgan, Evan, Camden

Lyrics: “Bright As Yellow” by The Innocence Mission. Thanks Sarah, Gina, Dalyn, and Debby for letting me dip into your photos. And in the photo I took of Camden crying, his mama is picking him up, not shaking him!

  1. Becky! This is absolutely beautiful and a great reminder how bright and warm this boy is. He is a gift and I’m so very happy you all see that too. I love you Aunt Becky.

  2. The picture with gma dear… Say it isn’t so! Is that Elvis in the background? He died on the 16th of August… What a coincidence. Weird 🙂

    1. I think it’s Kevin Kline in an Elvis pose. BUT–I was with you in KY on the day Elvis died. You were just a wee thing with no idea you’d once have a little one of your own born on that date. =)

    1. He cracked me up when I wished him happy birthday with part of a Beatles lyric, and he came right back at me with the next line. My siblings (and in-laws) have given the world such great kids and grandkids. So lucky to be able to enjoy them. =)
