30 Days of Creativity 2012: Day 23

Today’s theme from 30 Days of Creativity is “Happy Hour.”

The Ram directs a scene from his film Cocktail.

Warning: The Surgeon General has determined that references to the movie Cocktail can lead to an earworm infestation. Whatever you do, DON’T let the Beach Boys’ “Kokomo” enter your brain and–d’oh, too late!

Full disclosure: I have received no compensation from TGI Friday’s for product placement. Cheap bastards.

Disclaimer: This photograph is not meant to imply that Tom Cruise is aqua-colored or has fins.

Other Day 23 creations can be seen here.

  1. Marika says:

I see that the ram has endorsed product placement … and if you thought the preemptive mention of Kokomo would stop me … wrong!

    Afternoon delight
    cocktails and moonlit nights
that dreamy look in your eye
giving me a tropical contact high
    way down in Kokomo

Also kudos on taking a Tom Cruise risk … hope he doesn’t sue.

  2. Robert Edler says:

    You mean T.C. isn’t a fish‽

  3. Mark Lancaster says:

Perhaps you could use product placement in your books to increase revenue? Or have Starbucks sponsor a book? A Coventry Christmas – Sponsored by Starbucks, or woven into the story – ‘She was shocked to find Hamlet neared-drowned in her Caramel Frappacino and frantically rushed him to the vets, who she promptly fell in love with.’ No?

    • Becky says:

I think most products would run from me. Most of the real businesses we’ve used in our books ended up closing. Or being lost in a hurricane. I could DESTROY STARBUCKS. And that would make me most unhappy.

Funny, also, that you mentioned Starbucks. You’ll see why with the next 30 Days post.

  4. I hope your photo isn’t meant to imply that Tom Cruise is taller than most women, because I don’t think that’s true either.
