A memory is a terrible thing to lose

Um… In a recent LJ entry, I raved about John Weir’s novel What I Did Wrong. And sadly, I revealed that I “figured out” from something in the book that his fictional “Zach” was based on author and activist David Feinberg.

And, um…

Okay, after doing a little research, I found this link from a certain someone’s journal that I not only read every day but he lives…in my back yard. And even sadder? I COMMENTED ON IT back in March. With excitement!

Here are my top ten excuses for why I totally forgot everything about this.

10. I’d just finished writing A Coventry Christmas and I was tired.
9. I never did read that OutSmart Magazine. In fact, it’s probably still on the same shelf, waiting for me.
8. I’ve read about sixty books since March. And a boatload of short story submissions.
I had houseguests most of the month of March and I was distracted.
6. I had houseguests in April, when Someone Like You came out.
5. I went to New Orleans in May, and Trebor Healey took over my brain and Mark Harris took over my heart, and Paul J. Willis is an angel, and they all made me forget John Weir! Blame them!
4. I’m an idiot.
3. I had houseguests in August and October–and an important wedding event!
2. We’ve been busy getting Moonlight and Roses done and finishing TJB5.

and the number 1 reason why I forgot:

1. March is my birth month. Clearly, I was worried–and this time with apparent reason–about the effects of turning “35” yet again.
