Random photos

Today I accidentally stumbled into a good mood. Don’t worry; someone managed to snatch me back from the brink of happiness. However, feeling nostalgic for the good times, I snapped some photos around the neighborhood of things that cheer me up.

This is one of my favorite little yard corners on a nearby street. It always makes me think of that line from Mame: You make the bougainvillea turn purple at the mention of your name…

This is one of my favorite little cottages in the ‘hood.

From a distance, stained glass window detail of a house with whom I have a history–happy and sad.

Sign for our nearby dog park.

Empty at the moment.

I think I just have a thing for gray houses. This one’s in the Museum District.

More bougainvillea with a hibiscus.

I don’t know what this flower is.

Fountain outside my friend Larry’s shop.

An uninvited cat who decided to live at Larry’s.

The Brides sent flowers to Tom and me. THANK YOU!

Too many flowers to limit to one vase.

    1. They are probably oaks? I only know live oaks and then only when they’re big show-offs, as live oaks are wont to be.

      And you’re welcome. =)

    1. That gray house used to have a smaller picket fence which I liked better. I guess that’s just one of those homey images.

      You’re welcome. =)

  1. I too, LOVE gray houses. Actually, I have always had a crush on gray houses with red doors. There’s one on Mandel at Fairview-ish that I’m in lust with.

You’re very welcome… we love you and all that you did for us.

    1. I think we should just go out shooting gray houses in Montrose, Museum District, West U, River Oaks, and the Heights some day. After all the books are written and in the mail.

        1. LOL, oh, yes, shooting with cameras! I’d never use the Glock on a house… unless the house fired first. 😉

  2. Yes, wonderful pictures, thanks! They look so nice and warm weather-ish to me. (That box you might someday get with air holes in it? It may be me, rather than one of the dogs that would be delivered this winter.)
